The new option for creating subtitles and captions in Vyond makes it easy to make your videos accessible to a wider audience.
Whether you are watching a video in a noisy or quiet environment, or you simply want a bit of privacy from those who might overhear your video – subtitles help you better understand the video’s content.
What is the difference between subtitles and captions?
Subtitles contain the text of what is spoken in a video. For a video created with Vyond, this means:
- Text from text-to-speech
- Text transcribed from microphone recordings, uploaded audio, and video
Captions include the spoken text in a video as well as information about the audio. For a video created in Vyond that includes:
- Text from text-to-speech
- Transcribed text from microphone recordings, uploaded audio, and video
- Audio track names, such as music and sound effects in the timeline
How to download subtitles and captions from your video
Once you have finished your video in Vyond Studio, click on the “Download” menu. A new “Subtitles/Captions” section will appear. Generate either subtitles or captions, and you can download a ZIP file containing .srt and .vtt files that sync the text with the video timing. Upload these files together with your video to your chosen video hosting platform to enable subtitles.
Language support
Vyond currently supports audio transcription for subtitles in more than 50 languages. As Vyond continues to expand accessibility in Vyond Studio, further improvements will follow.
